As much as it sucks to be banned from websites for being under 16, I kind of think this new supposed “You have to be 16 to use most sites” is proooobably a good thing. Yeah, I know people younger than that will break the rules anyway, it happened when the age was 13. I was one of those people breaking the rules back then. But raising the age either way, even if it affects SOME kids, I think is a good thing.

I don’t say this as a “Heh, epic win for teh adultz!!!” thing that so many freaks on this site would try to turn it into, but I say this 100% genuinely: sites like Twitter, deviantART AND Tumblr are not good for people under 16. There’s just too much weird shit going on on all sides of the online spectrum. Kids aren’t ready to really take things with a grain of salt like you’d need to, to function happily on social media sites like this.
